Art Therapy

Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy delivered within Allied Health that uses creative, non‑verbal methods to support wellbeing. It is client‑led, trauma‑informed and neuro‑affirming, offering a safe space for expression and therapeutic exploration.

Our Registered Art Therapists hold a Master’s-level qualification and are accredited with ANZACATA, with some also registered as Counsellors.

Art Therapy sessions are now available at our Geelong locations.

What to Expect

We begin with an initial assessment to understand your goals, strengths, challenges, and preferred ways of expressing yourself. Art Therapy sessions may involve:

  • Guided creative activities designed to support emotional expression and self‑awareness
  • Techniques that promote grounding, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation
  • Exploration of thoughts, feelings, and experiences through symbolic or non‑verbal processes
  • Sensory‑supportive art materials chosen to meet individual needs
  • Ongoing collaboration to adjust approaches and support long‑term therapeutic progress

At Allay, we provide a safe, supportive, and client‑led space where creative expression becomes a pathway to healing, insight, and improved wellbeing.
